- a nice relaxing weekend in CT. featuring parades and carnivals!
- there’s something really cool about a neighborhood pizzeria. you know, the kind where the guys behind the counter know everyone who walks in, joking with everyone, having a good time, and turning out some really really great pizza. armando’s pizzeria in cambridge is our place.
- “do you think they know that they’re fat and disgusting?”
- have i really gotten that old? am i that out of touch with today’s youth? yesterday on our drive home, we listened to american top 40. a bunch of the top songs, i had never even heard of. and they were just awful. i mean “turn the station because this is hurting my ears” awful. and then we tried to watch the mtv VMA’s last night. they were almost unwatchable.who are these people? and i can’t understand anything they’re saying half the time. and was there even a stage, or a host? and were the only celebrities there beyonce, jay-z, and p. diddy? because those are the only people that they showed over and over and over. i remember i used to actually look forward to watching these things. man, i do sound like an old man.
- you know what’s fun? getting a flat tire on the mass pike. you know what’s even more fun. having two more people get into an accident because they’re watching my car being towed.

- the first week of petecarpenter.com going pretty smoothly. yes, i know it’s riduclous and self-indulgent.
- this site is now powered by movable type. for those of you who don’t know what that means (i.e. most everyone), it makes things a lot easier to manage (after the 2 weeks spent figuring it out and getting everything imported and set up), and it’ll add lots of fun features.
- taking friday off to go up to ipswich
- so, we go up to ipswitch with one thing on our minds: fried clams. i eat them about once a year, so i want to eat the best fried clams i can. which means the clam box. so we get all the way up there, and due to the bad weather they’ve been having, the clam box has no clams. huh? a severe blow to our plans. but we would not be deterred. we made a remarkable recovery, and went on a search for woodman’s. mission accomplished.
- russell orchards. they have tons of stuff here. like pigs, and ducks, and sheep, and miniature horses, and big horses, and lots and lots of fruits and veggies. so we decided to pick our own raspberries. within about 10 minutes, we were dripping with sweat and covered head to toe in mosquito bites. but the berries are really good.
- dinner with molly and justin. and i didn’t call her molly the trolley once
- hail. i think it’s one of the first times i’ve seen it. especially when it’s 90 degrees out
- dinner at the nightingale
- suynday afternoon, sitting out on the patio of baja fresh, getting some sun, eating burritos.
- for the rest of the day after eating at baja, your hands smell like limes and corn
- a sunday afternoon walk around cambridge
- i love the character of ari on entourage. i love this show
- i don’t know how we got sucked into the olympics. i mean we were up every night last week until almost midnight watching it. and not just the women’s beach volleyball, although we watched plenty of that. go USA!
