  • the saxe wedding.
  • the phoenix weather. sunny, mid-70’s, perfectly clear. i could get used to that.
  • our rental ford escape. a surprisingly nice ride.
  • getting to wear my tux again.
  • is it really possible that we went the entire weekend in phoenix without a single trip to baja fresh? although we did go to ajo al’s and los olivos norte
  • the babay watch continues. it was nice of the baby to wait until we got back from phoenix.
  • getting pats game updates during the wedding.
  • pane bianco. ok, i know it’s still early january, but we had the sandwiches of the year already. i mean, really unbelieveable. housemade mozzarrella, tomato and basil, and tuna with kalamata olives, red onion, lemon, and arugula. but the bread is what makes them incredible. up there with the pizza bianca from Forno in the campo di fiori in rome. i really can’t say enough about them.
  • did i mention that we went back 2 days in a row to get the sandwiches. and bought one for the plan ride home. and then forgot the sandwich in hotel fridge on our way to the airport and considered driving the 20 minutes back to the hotel to get it. seriously.
  • note to the organizers of the phoenix marathon. the airport is not a good place to have the marathon thereby closing off every road within a 10 mile radius of it..
  • we’re in phoenix for all of an hour before we find one of the best grocery stores we’ve ever seen.
  • bringing down the house. such an incredible story.
  • i saw joanna kerns, the mom from growing pains, in front of me in the security line in phoenix. i don’t think anyone else recognized her though.
  • our impromptu dinner with kirstin and lucas at dok bua
  • the mysterious buried treasure of Oak Island
