- um, we got married
- wedding pics, and more wedding pics. and lots more to come.
- honeymoon pics
- getting perfectly sunny, mid-70’s weather on the wedding day
- seeing everyone in their tuxes
- a surprise appearance by the d-man
- my shoes are like new thanks to tony the shoe guy
- i broke the glass on the first try
- i thought i was gonna lose it at the beginning, but luckliy i didn’t turn into a blubbering mess
- i have a shiny new ring
- my friends didn’t embarrasss me at the rehearsal dinner. a minor disappointment
- mike’s speech at the rehearsal dinner using the report that i wrote about him in 6th grade
- going back to the hotel bar after and watching the red sox-yankees game still wearing our wedding clothes. too bad the sox lost.
- i love my tux. i’m glad i get to wear it again soon.
- somehow managing to see all of the sights in rome in 2 days while still completely dilirious from the wedding
- pizza b in Jeffrey Steingarten’s book, It must have been something that i ate, and we went and found it. un-fricking-believeable. so good.
- hotel barocco
- Tullio
- Gusto
- the EuroStar trains. so much better than those crappy ones i took while backpacking through europe 5 years ago
- everything about positano. what an unbelieveable place.
- hotel buca di bacco
- what incredible food. we pretty much ate pizza for lunch and pasta and seafood for dinner every single day. didn’t exercise for 3 weeks. didn’t gain a pound. gotta love that mediterannean diet. must’ve been those 2 bottles of wine a day
- le tre sorelle. we ate lunch there almost every day
- chez black. and the restaurant owner’s dog nerone, who seemed to follow me everywhere
- lo guarancino. probably our favorite restaurant there, which was also the homiest and cheapest. the never-ending jog of house wine.
- fresh marinated anchovies. trust me.
- squid, octopus, cuttlefish, mussels, clams, anchovies, shrimp, prawns. we started to smell like seafood after a while. which isn’t a good thing.
- the bus trip to amalfi, although awful, was an experience to remember. thank god i didn’t rent a car there.
- every day went like this: wake up, have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean. walk around for a little bit. go have lunch. walk around a little bit, read a little bit. 2-3 hour nap. shower, go to dinner. go to bed. repeat.
- eating proscuitto every morning for breakfast
- nutella
- gelatto
- and most importantly, nutella flavored gelatto
- buffalo milk mozzarella
- the artichokes at le tre sorelle
- being able to read again. jeffrey steingarten’s it must have been something i ate, and laura brennan’s the fourth star
- pretty much a perfect 3 weeks.
- more as i think of them…
