  • um, we got married
  • wedding pics, and more wedding pics. and lots more to come.
  • honeymoon pics
  • getting perfectly sunny, mid-70’s weather on the wedding day
  • seeing everyone in their tuxes
  • a surprise appearance by the d-man
  • my shoes are like new thanks to tony the shoe guy
  • i broke the glass on the first try
  • i thought i was gonna lose it at the beginning, but luckliy i didn’t turn into a blubbering mess
  • i have a shiny new ring
  • my friends didn’t embarrasss me at the rehearsal dinner. a minor disappointment ;)
  • mike’s speech at the rehearsal dinner using the report that i wrote about him in 6th grade
  • going back to the hotel bar after and watching the red sox-yankees game still wearing our wedding clothes. too bad the sox lost.
  • i love my tux. i’m glad i get to wear it again soon.
  • somehow managing to see all of the sights in rome in 2 days while still completely dilirious from the wedding
  • pizza b in Jeffrey Steingarten’s book, It must have been something that i ate, and we went and found it. un-fricking-believeable. so good.
  • hotel barocco

  • Gusto
  • the EuroStar trains. so much better than those crappy ones i took while backpacking through europe 5 years ago
  • everything about positano. what an unbelieveable place.
  • hotel buca di bacco
  • what incredible food. we pretty much ate pizza for lunch and pasta and seafood for dinner every single day. didn’t exercise for 3 weeks. didn’t gain a pound. gotta love that mediterannean diet. must’ve been those 2 bottles of wine a day
  • le tre sorelle. we ate lunch there almost every day
  • chez black. and the restaurant owner’s dog nerone, who seemed to follow me everywhere
  • lo guarancino. probably our favorite restaurant there, which was also the homiest and cheapest. the never-ending jog of house wine.
  • fresh marinated anchovies. trust me.
  • squid, octopus, cuttlefish, mussels, clams, anchovies, shrimp, prawns. we started to smell like seafood after a while. which isn’t a good thing.
  • the bus trip to amalfi, although awful, was an experience to remember. thank god i didn’t rent a car there.
  • every day went like this: wake up, have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean. walk around for a little bit. go have lunch. walk around a little bit, read a little bit. 2-3 hour nap. shower, go to dinner. go to bed. repeat.
  • eating proscuitto every morning for breakfast
  • nutella
  • gelatto
  • and most importantly, nutella flavored gelatto
  • buffalo milk mozzarella
  • the artichokes at le tre sorelle
  • being able to read again. jeffrey steingarten’s it must have been something i ate, and laura brennan’s the fourth star
  • pretty much a perfect 3 weeks.
