  • for the first time in months, i don’t feel tired on monday morning. it must be the casino oxygen still running through my blood
  • jamie’s bachelor party at mohegan sun
  • el pelon. not only is the chicken torta one of my favorite sandwiches of all time, but they have the best fried plantains i’ve ever had. and the green iced tea is addictive.
  • i paid all of my bills and taxes this morning. the massachusetts motor vehicle excise tax is the single worst and unnecessary tax ever. you’re just sitting there minding your own business, and all of a sudden, a bill for $500. just for owning a car
  • fooled by april at skybar on friday. it seems like i’m seeing them practically every week now.
  • ok, hacker. you made the list.
  • the only oscar nominated movies that i saw this year were black hawk down and shrek. why didn’t the fast and the furious get nomina
  • i have a bunch of friends now who are reading joel’s blog on a daily basis.
  • by looking at the logs, i can see which page people come to this one from. i will start compiling a list of them. they are truly

  • daveg visits boston
  • a sight i never thought i’d see: daveg, larry, gordon, jeremy, steve, and josh fredericks (?!) along with their significant others drinking together
  • deals and emails
  • running on saturday morning with daveg. another thing i never expected to see.
  • going to check out the outsise of yin’s new place, randomly running into the people who actually live there, and them inviting me up to show it to me
  • delux cafe with susanne and yin on saturday night.
  • some guy wrote an article about joel’s blog and the library girl. this is crazy. my favorite part is when people started to think that he was completely fictitious, and somehow, daveg was invovled.
  • my favorite World’s Best episode on the Travel Channel: World’s Best Bathrooms. the number one was in this jewelry store in hong kong that was made completely out of gold and precious stones. you have to spend at least $200 in the store to use it. the first day it was open, there was a line around the block to use it.
  • by looking at the logs, i can see which page people come to this one from. some intereresting google searches brought up my page: bobby+flay+jew, secretary+tights, and amihotornot. the internet is really scary.

  • a weekend of good eats.
  • upper crust with jon on friday
  • bully
  • 65 degrees and sunny on saturday. running in shorts and a tank top.
  • the helmand. afghani food. the smell from the wood burning oven in the dining room is incredible. and there’s one guy who looks like a pirate who cooks all of the bread in it.
  • cruising with d and curran on saturday afternoon. windows open, sunroof open, driving around boston
  • new shanghai, best cellars wine, and movies on saturday with d and kim.
  • the travel channel. so many good shows on there. a documentary on the world series of poker, a show about these ridiculous vacations that cost $100k+, and a tour of donald trump’s palm beach mansion
  • brunch at the blue room with yin and his family. i didn’t eat again for the rest of the day.
  • i think it’s funny that newspapers and sportscasters have to pretend to actually care about the women’s NCAA hoops tournament.
  • our downstairs bathroom toilet has been running nonstop for 3 years. this morning, i typed into google “how to fix a running toilet”, and 2 minutes later, it was fixed. i love the internet.
  • “it would look like a school girl outfit. consider it done.”
  • pay-per-view guilty pleasure of the week: summer catch

  • a full action packed weekend. i’m so tired.
  • friday sick days.
  • jake ivory’s with gordon, karen, tom, and lesley on friday. i can’t believe how tanked and out of control people were by 9:30, but the girls dress like tramps, so it’s ok.
  • tom’s band playing at the paradise, complete with tom’s giant posse
  • somebody finding an unattended and working beer tap at the paradise. free beer!
  • lani and craig’s new house
  • the new super88 asian market next to my star market
  • running into the newly engaged steve and sarah on friday night.
  • back to back saturday nights at the b-side lounge. and we even had the same drew barrymore look-a-like as a waitress.
  • dimple went out on saturday without a wallet, ID, or money. when being questioned by the bouncer at the b-side, we found out that d-man graduated from high school in ‘91 and the first album that he ever bought was milli vanilli’s girl you know it’s true. that’s sad.
  • american pie 2 was on an endless loop in out apartment all weekend. i saw various parts of it about 8 times, but i still haven’t seen the whole thing straight through.
  • dinner with d, gordon, karen, lesley, d-man, and yin on sunday night. that’s the last time i make the raviolis for a while
  • spicy candied pecan crusted goat cheese
  • i spent a good amount of time this weekend ripping every one of my legally purchased cd’s onto my computer. i don’t feel so bad about downloading all of those songs from morpheus considering how much money i’ve already given to these record companies
  • ultra chilled, volume 01. the soundtrack for my workday
